When you click the Place Bid button from the item description page, the bid page appears.
How to enter a Flat Bid: The page will automatically display the minimum bid (the current bid plus the bid increment). If you wish to enter a flat bid, enter the Minimum Bid amount into the Maximum Bid field and click Place Bid.
How to enter a Proxy Bid: If you wish to enter a Proxy Bid (an amount larger than the minimum bid), enter the amount in the Maximum Bid field and click Place Bid. The system will bid automatically on your behalf until the Proxy Bid amount is reached.
Once you submit your bid, a confirmation page appears, giving you a chance to cancel your bid. Because a bid represents a commitment to trade, be sure to check your bid before clicking the Submit button.
If you place and confirm your bid, the Bid History Tab tells you the Bid ID number.
